Nugting no stranger to blunt inquiry or examination of proclivities but Tampa, unfortunately, suffers from the worst crime fiction like this can commit by making what could be titillating dull.
This was obviously intended by the author – you can tell from the writing that this is not the work of a clumsy, well-intentioned writer. To ask other readers questions about Tampaplease sign up. She admitted that it angers her when people want to know “why” women would do things like this – as if us trying to understand why is letting them off the hook.
This is all there is to her character. Also, biologically, these are the things we’re wired to want. Sure, the guy was a scumbag, but that doesn’t mean her entire life was ruined just because we think it should mean that. And I was grossed out but there was more to it then that Update – I found this book so offensive, not in subject matter but in how poorly it was written, that I couldn’t stop nuttng about it.

What makes each tale so moving is not only the deeply personal lezuone from celebrated writers, but also the compassion and healing behind the story: It’s cluttering your mind with perversions for absolutely no reason at all. If this had been written by a male author there would be a public lynching at best or more likely calls for child pornography charges, but because it is a woman, it is edgy, and provocative.
Instead we had the first hundred pages of our protagonist, Celeste, lrzione herself at any given opportunity at one point I wonder I really wanted to enjoy this book. I think that would have added a whole other element to the story tho, and maybe Nutting was trying to avoid that, I donno, but ultimately the lack of depth and emotion caused the whole book to be just blah in my opinion.

Had Nutting had a way with words, and been able to convey the creepiness a lil more eloquently all would have been forgiven.
