I have the several of the “other” books. To ask other readers questions about Chessplease sign up. I haven’t been able to find an example of what the book looks like on the inside. Includes promotions, zugzwang, passed pawns, avoiding piece exchanges, pins, fortresses, fixing weaknesses, improving king’s position, etc. The indices are in several languages, so if you do not read Hungarian, there should be no hindrance.
It is no doubt that it would be very beneficial for any improving chess player to go through that book, but really doing it is a whole other story! middlegqmes

However, the book also expects something of the reader. Yes, they might as well not exist. Sure it’s not as many positions, but the organization and instruction add significant value that tops the pure count of positions. If I used them esp Middlegame they would probably help, as they sem quite comprehensive.
Have you found those books useful in your own study?

Hence it is a book not for the average club player who needs explanations of the methods of play, but for the seasoned player who wants to analyse out for himself the best means of playing typical positions, and to be alert to tactical opportunities But I may start reviewing them. Is the fact that these books seem to have only been released in a Hungarian language version likely to be an issue? It is also probably the scariest book I own. For example, positions of isolated queen pawn play, hedgehog positions, Sicilian sacrifice positions and so on.

The method which the book offers could be considered which Laszlo used to teach his daughters – endless amount of instructive, but not easy middlegame positions.
